Theme song from the 1944 film noir Laura. Composer David Raksin wrote the musical score with many imaginative theme variations. While the opening chorus is only about 45 seconds in length, its captivating melody and chord progression have been recognized by many jazz artists for its improvisational opportunities. Bill’s mother Laura, an accomplished pianist, filled his childhood home with sounds of this piece and many other jazz classics from the 1940s.
